Registration is from 10am to Noon. You will need to register your deck (download a deck registration sheet here).

• 5th – 8th Place – 12 packs each

The event starts at 1pm, so get registered before then. We’ll play Swiss rounds to top 8, then play off. Each entry will put three booster packs in the prize pool. Prize payout will break down like so:

• 1st – 35% prize pool
• 2nd – 25%
• 3rd & 4th – 10% each
• 5th – 8th – 5% each

Prize count is subject to minor tweaks to get to whole numbers.

All entry fees will go to prize support. We’ll also have the Strength of Selesnya Event Deck on sale.

Over the course of six weeks, players compete for prizes by earning league points. There are three types of league points: game points, hobby points, and journeyman points. Game points are earned for playing against other players in the league using that week’s rules, hobby points are earned for painting models, journeyman points are the sum of game points and hobby points.

Each week, rules are set to restrict the size and general composition of players’ armies. This will help encourage an environment that is enjoyable for players who may take longer to become accustomed to the rules of the game.

When you enter, select a faction. All your army selections and painted models toward your league score must come from this faction.

You can play with the out-of-the-box Battlegroups or use one of the equivalents listed in the official rules (PDF, page 3).

This event is open to all players, and uses the current Modified Format (all sets from Black & White through Black and White: Plasma Freeze.) You’ll need your own deck, and a filled out deck registration sheet (PDF). If you’re not sure how to fill out the sheet, come Sunday the week before the event and our local trainers will be glad to help.

The Battle Road Spring tournaments provide players with small, entry-level events on a local scale. These events are a great way to get your feet wet in the world of Premier Events.

In the Pokémon Trading Card Game Battle Road Spring tournaments, players in each of the three age divisions can work toward earning Championship Points, potentially earning an invitation to the World Championships!

Prizes

All participants will receive 1 Play! Point just for playing!

1st Place

• 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs
• A Gold Victory Cup promo card
• 15 Championship Points

2st Place

• 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs
• A Silver Victory Cup promo card
• 12 Championship Points (if age division attendance is 4 or greater)

3rd Place

• 2 Pokémon TCG booster packs
• A Bronze Victory Cup promo card
• 10 Championship Points (if age division attendance is 8 or greater)

4th Place

• 2 Pokémon TCG booster packs
• 10 Championship Points (if age division attendance is 8 or greater)

5th – 8th Place

• 6 Championship Points (if age division attendance is 32 or greater)

9th – 12th Place

• 4 Championship Points (if age division attendance is 64 or greater)

13th – 16th Place

• 2 Championship Points (if age division attendance is 64 or greater)

Qualifier tournaments are where the game really gets serious. The excitement level is high and the stakes are even higher. Players the world over converge with a common goal in mind — an invitation to the Pro Tour, which could include an airplane ticket to the next Pro Tour location.

The Event

Registration opens at 9am and closes at 10:30. $25 entry for each player. You will need a completed decklist (download one here). This will be a Swiss tournament with elimination playoffs for the top 8. We’ll take a lunch break after the second round.

For the locals, this tournament will also count as a +1 Magic Series Trial (see below).

Prizes

• 1st place: $400 cash
• 2nd place: $200 cash
• 3rd & 4th place: $100 cash each
• 5th-8th place: $50 cash each

Directions, Lodging and Food

+1 Gaming is located nearest to the Clearview North exit on I-10. The store is behind the shopping center, facing Manhattan St. If you are coming from the Clearview exit, we suggest turning left on Houma Blvd. (it has a light) and taking your next right onto Manhattan St. The shopping center has ample parking, and there’s street parking for overflow.

There are hotels along the Interstate at the Clearview and Causeway exits with a variety of price ranges. Here’s a map to help.

The +1 Magic Series

The +1 Series is monthly tournaments culminating in our March Anniversary Grand Tournament. The top winner at each +1 Trial (like this one) gets a first-round bye on top of their winnings. If that player has already won a bye for the year, the bye goes to the next-highest ranked player who does not have a bye.

The Tournament

Registration is 10am to Noon. The tournament begins at 12:30. Each player receives two packs each of Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash and Dragon’s Maze. When the judge calls to open packs, each player will open their packs and write out their list of cards (the sealed pool). Once all sealed pools are recorded, the pools will be passed several times to a new player, and a time will be given for deck-building.

Each player has the option to drop from the tournament before passing their sealed pool.

The tournament will be played in Swiss rounds to determine a top 8. The top 8 players will then play an elimination draft tournament with one new pack of each set.

Prizes

• 1st Place wins $200 and a bye at the March GT (see below)
• 2nd Place wins $100
• 3rd & 4th Places win 18 booster packs of their set choice*
• 5th – 8th Places win 18 booster packs*

*Booster backs can be swapped for $3 store credit each.

The new Steamroller document has been updated with additional scenarios and rules for playing in Steamroller tournaments. Event organizers need this document to organize their events, and players will want to familiarize themselves with the contents, including rules and expectations.

We’ll have the official Steamroller coins for prizes, and any extra entry fees will go toward some bonus goodies!
