Warhammer 40k 1 week, 4 days agoGot confirmation on my time. I’m running a Warhammer 40k Capture the Flag event at Bayou Wars on Saturday, June 8 from 7pm to 11pm. 200 points, no FOC, team play. You can drop in or out at any time; you’ll be assigned to the team with the fewest players. You can even play multiple times if you get wiped out.

Warhammer 40k 1 month agoI’m starting early planning for an Apocalypse game. This may become an annual tradition. I’ll have a sign-up sheet in the store this week. Tentative date is Saturday, July 27. The basic plan is two teams, somewhere around 10-15k points per team. Warhammer 40k 1 month agoThere’s a tournament at Level Up, a new store in Slidell, this Saturday at 2pm. I think it’d be awesome if some folks from around here can make it and show some support for the new store. It’s a $5 entry, all Purge the Alien. I’m getting army size details now.

Yep, the 27th.
It’s 1000 points. They probably have mostly newer players, so for anyone from +1 going, make sure you’re at your best attitude, and maybe don’t completely stomp them. :)

No one else from plus 1 showed so just me representing. Round 1 tau vs guard (store owner for odd man) tabled him on t6 for 10 points, no units lost.

Round two was emperors will. Tied at 4 points. Chaos with two hell drakes. Killed on the foolishly went to hover mode.

Warhammer 40k 1 month, 1 week agoThere’s a FAQ ruling that changes how we’ve been playing battlements. They confer a 4+ cover save as walls and barricades, not a 3+ as fortifications. I think it’s a bit silly, but it’s in the FAQ.

I know I just read that too. The odd thing on the forums they said if you have a vehicle or a unit gaining cover b/c of a fortress or bastion it would get the 3+. Guess your just not as protected being on top.

Yeah, being around the corner of a fortification is 3+, but being on the battlements is 4+.

Warhammer 40k 1 month, 2 weeks agoNewcomer here, Will be dropping by Tomorrow around 2, looking for a game 1500-2k. New to 6th Edition, but played 5th, little rusty, trying to get back into it. Also is it to late to join the league play? won’t be playing much on weekends, but would like to play on wednesdays.

Ron and I are going to be around, but we’ll probably be playing each other in a game starting at around noon. He finally got a hold of his Night Scythe and wants to try it out. The usual army sizes are 1500 or 1850, but there’s nothing set in stone and most people will be happy to play a game at all.

Hey, Jeremy.
Couple quick questions about the event.
1. No Warlords as in no traits, I assume? HQ units still valid to choose?
2. With no FOC in effect, what counts as Scoring to move the ”Flag-Relics?”
1. Right. HQs are allowed, but no Warlord designation, traits, no Slay the Warlord bonus, etc.
2. Troop choices are still the only scoring units to carry the flag. You just aren’t required to fill out a minimum FOC, and aren’t limited by FOC maximums.
