Citadel is re-launching their entire paint line, and it looks awesome! 145 colors – bases, layers, washes, glazes, and new dry pigments and textures. The paints release Saturday, April 7. Watch the video introducing the line below!
<a href="

The New Paint Types

Citadel’s grouping their paints into seven types: Base, Shade, Dry Compound, Layer, Glaze, Texture and Technical. Here’s the rundown.

Base Paints replace the Foundations. There are 34 base colors, including several metallics. The full list is right here.

Shades replace the Citadel washes. The formula is improved for smoother application to avoid splotching. It’s otherwise the same great washes you’ve been using with 12 colors, including a new yellow and orange. Here’s the full list.

Dry Compounds are lighter tones of a wide color range used for dry brushing. They’re almost all pigment, so they’re very easy to use and can be done over or under washes, glazes and varnish. There’s 15 colors available. Here’s the list.

Layers replace the old Colour range as the main body of Citadel’s paint line. There are seventy - seven-zero – colors now. The line is big enough it needs two lists.

Glazes are four basic colors formulated to go over your paint job and shift the color, almost like a Photoshop filter. They’re similar to Shades, but work to normalize the hue of an area or dial down over-highlighting. Here’s the list.

Textures are a new line of paint with fine and coarse grit mixed in. Use this as an undercoat or base color for texturing terrain or adding a rough micro-texture to any surface. Here’s the list.

The Technical line includes the odds and ends – liquid green stuff, gloss varnish, and black and white undercoats. Here’s the list.

How to Order

We’re taking pre-orders on any of these now. You can order individual paints, ranges or sets. You’re welcome to use the old names, just indicate that you want to get the new versions.

Want to dive in and experience the whole line? Try the Citadel Paint Bundle (pictured). You get one of every 145 paints, as well as a slick carrying case. The whole bundle is $536, which makes the case completely free!

Color-Matching

Don’t worry, veteran painters. Citadel has taken the extra step to provide a conversion chart to their old colors. Since the range has only grown bigger, you won’t find a single unconverted color.

If you’re just not convinced, we can always order Vallejo paints which have years of experience successfully matching Citadel’s paint range.

Painting League & Contest

With the new Citadel paints releasing, we’re holding a Painting League through April on Thursdays! Citadel paints aren’t required; it’s just a handy excuse to try them out. Full details here.

Last of all, here’s the official Games Workshop release post from their news blog.

There’s historicals, Euro-style, casual … something for everyone! Release dates are a fickle beast, so be aware that some of these games may not come out in April. If you’re curious about one, just ask!

War & Peace (2012)

$75.00

War and Peace is a game that allows players to recreate the fight for Europe from 1805 to 1815. The game is designed for play by 2 players, one player being the French player and the other player is the British. Each player also controls one of the major countries of France, Britain, Austria, Russia, or Spain. Prussia is also in the game but starts neutral. The countries of France, Britain, Russia, Austria, Prussia, and Spain are represented by infantry, artillery, cavalry, naval units. The countries of France and Britain are at war throughout the game. The countries of Russia, Austria, Prussia, and Spain become neutral, conquered neutrals, French allies, or British allies through the use of diplomatic resources or military conquest.

France starts out strong militarily with the aid of the Spanish navy and a strong French army. Austria and Russia, when united, have strong armies while England rules the waves and buys influence and allies. Victory is determined by the conquest of France or Britain, or causing the isolation of Britain through political and economic means. The fate of Europe rest in your hands…

Divided Republic

$49.99

The presidential election of 1860 was one of the most critical in the history of the United States. With civil war looming as a near inevitability, the challenge was to find a way forward after years of degenerating political discourse in the increasingly divided American electorate. In the end, after months of contentious campaigning between four (!) major parties and over a dozen smaller ones, the election was won by the Republican dark horse candidate, a little known Illinois politician named Abraham Lincoln who hadn’t even been the first choice of his party’s senior leadership.

Divided Republic is a card driven two to four player game representing the last calm before the storm that was to become the American Civil War. Players represent the four major parties (Constitutional Unionists, Northern Democrats, Republicans, and Southern Democrats) and attempt to win the presidency by defeating their opponents with dirty tricks, platform speeches, and the manipulation of key historical events. All the while, President Buchanan interferes, radicals riot, and the country continues the downward spiral toward civil war. If one party wins the election by achieving the necessary 152+ electoral votes, or wins in the case of an electoral tie thrown to the US Congress, history may well change. Nevertheless, there is always the chance that the population of South Carolina will finally explode into open rebellion and secede, ending the game, at which point everyone loses!

This is a light to medium weight game with intense player interaction, card-driven play, and a play time of about 2-3 hours depending upon how events proceed. There are even a few laughs along the way as the mudslinging between parties heats up. Literally anyone can win – it’s not simply a cut and dry Republican victory. This is a different kind of US election game, a game where there are not two, but four parties, set in a period when candidates did not generally campaign for themselves, and run in an era when the Republicans were still liberals and the Democrats were the vanguard of traditional American conservatism.

Siberia

$64.99

Siberia – a land of rugged extremes, harsh elements, and a wealth of opportunity. Tap into and exploit Siberia’s abundant, valuable resources in your bid for dominance and prosperity in the trade market.

BoardGameGeek listing | Pre-order

Space Maze

$49.99

In the game each player represents an alien species. The goal is to steal an ancient relic from a massive structure floating in space. The players compete against each other, all trying to bring home the Relic. The game has a capture-the-flag system.

The gameplay mechanics are based around a maze made up out of primary coloured doorways (red, blue and yellow), two doorways touching each other make a combination of colours that can (or not if the two colours are the same) form a secondary colour. The aliens you play with are made up out of these secondary colours, each player has three aliens: 1 green, 1 orange and 1 purple. Aliens can only pass through doorways that form their secondary colour.

While moving through the maze the players will continuously have to change the maze to get the right colour combinations. And while everybody is getting closer together, players will start to be in each others way, eventually changing the maze in ways others will not be too happy about. Especially not when you prevent them from grabbing the relic!

This is a game where you plan ahead for a perfect round, just to see it all being completely overthrown by some odd move your opponent is making (providing all other players with some cheap laughs). Most of the time spreading your chances will be the best way to go, but you can always rush for it and hope for the best!

Masters of Commerce

$40

In Masters of Commerce you take on the role of a freewheeling capitalist out to outmaneuver your competitors and earn your place as a great industrialist.

Players are divided into landlords and merchants. Your goal is to earn more money than any other landlord (if you are a landlord) or more money than any other merchant (if you are a merchant) by the end of the fifth round.

Each round landlords and merchants negotiate with each other in a two minute free-for-all to set rent agreements on the landlords’ properties. Merchants then collect income from the properties they rented but not until a roll of the dice has brought changes to the value of the four colors of properties. Landlords collect rent from merchants, pay taxes on their properties, and buy new properties at auction.

At the end of the fifth round the merchant with the most money and the landlord with the most money are each declared winners, the true Masters of Commerce.

Zong Shi

$69.99

In a large town in medieval China, several talented artisans – Masters in their own right – aspire to become recognized as Zong Shi: the Grand Master craftsman. You are one of these master artisans and together with your apprentice, you are competing with the other Masters to attain this elevated status in the town. To succeed, you’ll have to impress the townspeople with your skills. How shall you do it? Will you acquire a specialist’s mastery over certain material, or will you enlarge your workshop? Will you create a large number of smaller projects or will you build fewer, but greater, masterworks? That is for you to decide.

Zong Shi blends worker placement, resource management, project completion and special action cards. To set up the game, lay out the project cards (eight types, each with a special power) and masterwork projects (only three at a time) on the game board; draw goods randomly for the two markets; lay out the exchange tiles in the pawn shop; and lay out a certain number of Scrolls of Fortune and material tiles. Players take turns drafting Scrolls (which have one-shot abilities) and materials (needed to complete projects), then the first round begins.

Your family (one of four) has a small, but steady income that should suffice to hire a few showmen to bring life to the oh-so-empty park site. As you earn more, you can afford a favor or two: the police officer is kinder to you, you can hire a migrant worker to do extra work, and you can even finagle the attention of a promoter or a journalist!

The families will need to co-operate from time to time; after all, those grand attractions don’t build themselves. In the end, the grand attractions are what will impress the crowds and bring about euphoric headlines in the newspapers!

Tschak!

$24.99

TSCHAK!’ is a card game in which everybody gets to play with exactly the same hands. But who will be the most successful in avoiding the troglodytes and bigger monsters, while going for the fattest treasures, or even better, the legendary rings of power?

Good hand management, double-guessing, a tad of luck, and the victory is yours!

Fealty

The players – potential heirs all – are scrambling to put together their powerbases by dispatching trusted agents and allies to garner support across the breadth of the kingdom. Nobody wants open warfare, but some conflict is sure to break out.

Fealty is a game of positioning and territory control. Each turn, all players add one piece to the game board, with increasing constraints on placement as time goes on. Some pieces have an effect when brought into play. At the end of the game, all pieces place influence in order of speed, claiming territory and blocking slower opposing pieces. The player who has maneuvered their pieces to place the most influence onto the board wins.

Divinare

$29.99

London, November 17th, 1896: The streets of the city are almost deserted, traveled only by passersby whose only goal seems to reach their warm homes as quickly as possible. But in the private salons of a luxury Bloomsbury hotel, the goal is something completely different. The fifty greatest known mediums are taking part in a never-before-seen tournament in order to determine which one is the most powerful of all. The final table opens in a few minutes and you will be joining it. Who will win the £1,000 reserved for the winner?

In Divinare, the players play the part of famous mediums who must attempt to divine the cards held by their opponents. In each round, only two-thirds of the cards — representing the four divination methods of chiromancy, crystallomancy, tasseomancy and astromancy — are dealt out, and are then revealed little-by-little, giving the players the possibility of narrowing their predictions. A good prediction will allow the players to win points, but guess wrong and you may be forced to take a penalty. The player with the most points after a set number of rounds wins.

Pizza Theory

$29.99

Pizza Theory, designed for exactly three players, has no randomness and simple turn actions, but the outcome each round is unpredictable since each cook has his own idea for the best way to create the pie.

The game concentrates on the initial landings and the subsequent breakout attempts. The German player tries to prevent the a successful Allied landing, and if that fails, to contain the beachhead. The Allied player wins by establishing a beachhead, or (better) by successfully breaking out of the landing area.

The mapboard depicts the Normandy area where the initial landings took place. Units are regiments and brigades, representing infantry, airborne, armour artillery, anti-tank and anti-aircraft units.

The game uses the area-impulse system used in Storm over Arnhem, Thunder at Cassino and Turning Point: Stalingrad.

Or be Frederick the Great and struggle for survival with a mixture of courageous willpower, sudden inspiration and stoic patience.

It is the summer of 1756. On the eve of the Seven Years War, half of Europe has formed an alliance. Frederick the Great is in deep sorrow: Is the annihilation of Prussia planned? Is it Prussia’s defeat or is it Prussia’s glory?

All against one – but only one will reign supreme. On a map of Old Europe, players maneuver their generals from city to city. Frederick must retain a part of each Prussian province, while the attacking powers savagely seek out their objectives. The clever use of tactical cards is decisive to winning.

You also compete to establish major multi-stage shipping routes to bring A, P & E maximum profit. The company rewards its managers in shares of company stock.
Virgin Queen

$89

Virgin Queen: Wars of Religion 1559-1598 is a game of grand strategy for two to six players based on the military, political and religious conflicts within Europe during the reigns of Elizabeth I of England and Philip II of Spain. Each player controls one or more of the major powers that presided over European politics in that day. Spain is the juggernaut, able to draw upon the vast riches of their global empire. But such a dominant power is sure to have many enemies. The Ottoman expansion towards Spain’s Mediterranean outposts remains unchecked. Elizabeth’s English sea dogs are poised to raid Spain’s overseas empire. And the forces of Protestant reform will soon drag Spain into eighty years of rebellion in the Netherlands. Will Spain find aid from its Catholic allies? Perhaps not from France, where the Catholic Valois dynasty is soon to engage another group of Protestant believers in the bloody French Wars of Religion. And even Philip’s relatives in Vienna who rule the Holy Roman Empire may dabble in the Protestant faith instead of remaining loyal to their Catholic heritage and Spanish brethren.

Virgin Queen is the sequel to Here I Stand, another card-driven game of grand strategy that covered the previous forty years (from Martin Luther’s posting of his 95 Theses in 1517 through the abdication of Charles V in 1556). Players familiar with Here I Stand will find much that is familiar in Virgin Queen: over half of the rulebook remains unchanged. New game systems have been put in place to emphasize the changing nature of the conflicts here in the late 16th Century.

During this amazing year, a series of democratic revolutions ended the 40 year Soviet empire in Eastern Europe. 1989 simulates the political, social and economic aspects of these revolutions using a card-driven system similar to Twilight Struggle.

Bomber Command

$67

The game models the great RAF bombing raids against the heart of Germany and the defense of the German night fighter arm.

Bomber Command will detail the tactics of night fighting against the great bomber streams, including Himmelbett, Wild Boar and Tame Boar. A subsystem details the techniques of area bombing and precision attacks at night.

You win if you utilize your network of rail lines to acquire and deliver goods efficiently to accumulate the largest personal fortune!

The base game provides pre-programmed routes on a board depicting a north-eastern portion of the U.S. with demand cards providing players with an easy way to learn the system through play. Players start with the bare bones of a railroad: an empty train and track connecting some cities. Each turn you and your fellow players take turns building track, operating trains, and delivering loads. The bank will pay you for each delivered load.

With the starting route guided by the board, only two loads per card, and a visual pick-up and delivery guide on every card, the learning curve is greatly shortened.

You know the history.

All have read about the founding of America. This history shows what led to the American Revolution and the cry for independence. The history is clear, and there is no real dispute over these events.

Or is there?

There is a secret history, and this history deals with events that took place in the shadows. These events played a role in the history of the American colonies and the Revolution that few know about.

The truth is hidden, and plots are afoot. Events are moving behind the scenes, and lurking in the shadows are agents with their own agenda.

War is coming. The Siege of Boston is lifted, and General Washington is leading the Continental Army to New York. The enemies are many, but as to who they are, you do not know.

Colonial Gothic is a supernatural historical horror roleplaying game set during the dawn of the American Revolution.

Colonial Gothic Gazeteer

$12.99

It is 1775.

The conflict between the American colonists and the British Parliament has come to a head at Boston. War seems inevitable. Behind the war, unseen hands move unknowing pieces, manipulating events according to ancient plans. Beside the war, ghosts and monsters walk the land and ancient curses run their course.

Welcome to the Thirteen Colonies.

In this book you will find maps and information covering each of the Thirteen Colonies, plus the Province of Maine and local native peoples, plus a short ready-to-play adventure, A Surprise for General Gage. A glossary explains unfamiliar terms both native and colonial, and a bibliography points to more detailed information on the colonies and their inhabitants.

In 1974, the world changed forever when Gary Gygax introduced the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. The legacy of his innovative ideas and the extensive reach of his powerful influence can be seen in virtually every facet of gaming today.

To help honor his work and his memory, Wizards of the Coast created limited-edition reprints of the original 1st Edition core rulebooks: the Monster Manual, Player’s Handbook, and Dungeon Master’s Guide. These premium versions of the original AD&D rulebooks have been lovingly reprinted with the original art and content, but feature an attractive new cover design commemorating this re-release.

Space Wolves

Thunderwolf Cavalry

$54.50

From the Mountains of the Maelstrom come the legendary Thunderwolves, hulking beasts with jaws so strong they can chew through steel. Only the Space Wolves have the constitution to hunt down these creatures and, through ritual, they give rise to the near-mythical Thunderwolf Cavalry – a small but dauntless elite within the ranks of the Wolf Guard.

The Thunderwolf Cavalry are the perfect shock troops to smash apart your opponent’s battleline. Their natural ferocity, tempered by years of battlefield experience, makes them the ideal unit to spearhead your attack, while their extensive armoury of close-combat weapons allows you to take on a variety of foes, from hordes of infantry to main-line battle tanks. They are carnage-generating machines and, with them fighting as part of your army, woe betides anyone who stands in your way.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 121 components with which to build three Thunderwolf Cavalry models. This set comes with a selection of weaponry, including a frost blade, a power fist, a thunder hammer and three storm shields, as well as optional extras such as grenades, holstered bolt guns and bolt pistols. There is a choice of six different heads – as well as a severed Thousand Sons head (to show a job well done). These miniatures come with three 60mm bases.

Fenrisian Wolf Pack

$24.75

The wolves of Fenris are amongst the most vicious predators in the known universe – they have shaggy manes, powerful shoulders and possess iron-hard teeth. It is considered a great feat for a battle-brother of the Space Wolves to hunt down a pack of these wolves armed with nothing but his wits and, should he kill the alpha male, the rest of the wolves will instinctively treat him as their new pack leader. When the battle-brother returns successful to the Fang, he does so in the company of wolves.

Fenrisian Wolves will aid your Space Wolves in numerous ways in battle. Their speed makes them a great flanking unit with which to harry your enemies and pick off small units. They can also be used as a fast moving distraction to you main battle line, leaving your opponents guessing at your next move.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 20 components with which to build five plastic Fenrisian Wolves, and five 40mm round bases.

Having impressed the Great Wolf with his deeds, prodigious strength and fortitude, Arjac Rockfist became Logan Grimnar’s personal champion. To those who witness one of his legendary rampages, it is obvious that Arjac Rockfist’s skills lie in the crucible of battle. He has earned his place in Grimnar’s Wolf Guard a dozen times over, for his hammer never rests for long…

As a Wolf Guard of serious renown, Arjac Rockfist will plunge into battle wielding his ferocious, rune-etched Foehammer to devastating effect. Should your enemy stand nearby, Arjac can choose to hurl his Foehammer at them, crushing their skulls with impunity before it returns to his hand. Alternatively you can always wait until they get close enough and simply hit them with it. Such is Arjac’s skill at dueling, that he is perfect for taking down your opponent’s characters or monstrous creatures.

This pack contains Arjac Rockfist – a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes in three components, and is supplied with a 40mm round base.

Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf

$41.25

The Wolf Lords rule from the heart of the Space Wolves Chapter. They epitomise what it is to be one of the Sons of Russ and each carries the mark of greatness. Each Wolf Lord leads a Great Company comprising over a hundred of the most lethal men Fenris can breed. A Great Company thrives or dwindles as a direct consequence of its ruler’s decisions, and the Wolf Lord holds his brothers’ fate in his hands. It is only when he is surrounded by the raging maelstrom of battle that a Wolf Lord’s true glory becomes manifest. Sprinting forward with axe in hand, he howls with the joy of battle, inspiring his men to ever-greater displays of heroism.

When a Wolf Lord rides to battle atop a mighty Thunderwolf, your enemy will quickly learn the meaning of pain. Combining the durability and ferocity of the Wolf Lord with the speed of the Thunderwolf will allow your commander to get into close-combat nice and quickly. There, you can then deliver the maximum amount of carnage to your opponents’ warriors.

This boxed set contains one Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf – a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes in 15 components, and is supplied with a 60mm round base. There is even a severed Thousand Sons torso (if a severed head alone isn’t enough).

It is the Grey Hunters who comprise the main body of each Great Company. Their raw aggression has been tempered by experience, and each Grey Hunter pack can be an army in its own right. The transition to becoming a Grey Hunter can take centuries, but eventually their hair begins to grey, their fangs lengthen, and their skin becomes ever more tanned and leathery. The rest of the Imperium may abhor such a widespread mutation, but the Space Wolves know that a grey pelt is the mark of the true warrior.

One Grey Hunter may carry the Wolf Standard into battle and it is considered a great honour to do so. The mere presence of the Wolf Standard inspires your Grey Hunters to fight harder, and should you find your unit engaged in a pivotal assault, the power of the Wolf Standard may be just the impetus they need to cause serious harm to your foes.

This pack contains one Grey Hunter with Wolf Standard – a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes in three components, and is supplied with a 25mm round base.

You can add a Cyberwolf to your Fenrisian Wolf Packs to make them more powerful; or take up to four Cyberwolves as protection for your Iron Priests while they repair your war-torn vehicles.

This pack contains one Space Wolves Cyberwolf – a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes in four components, and is supplied with a 40mm round base.

Tyranids

Hive Tyrant / The Swarmlord

$53.75

Commanders of the Tyranid swarm, Hive Tyrants are the enactors of the Hive Mind’s will. Massively powerful creatures, these hulking monsters stand three times the height of a man. Every part of a Hive Tyrant’s body is perfectly created to maim and kill. It is a formidable opponent at any range, as deadly with a heavy venom cannon or stranglethorn cannon as it is with a bonesword or its own scything claws.

The Swarmlord is as old as the Tyranid race itself, the very pinnacle of the Hive Tyrant bioform. It is a monster of darkest nightmare that has preyed on empires and overseen the extinction of entire civilisations. It is a legendary destroyer of worlds and its names are legion.

As commanders go there are none quite as intimidating as a Tyranid Hive Tyrant. Their sheer physical presence is enough to make your opponents think twice about their actions, and when the bloodshed begins they will be truly at a loss as to how to deal with it. With such a large variety of weapons and upgrades at its disposal, your Hive Tyrant is the ultimate killer – a towering monster of death and destruction that will tear apart your enemies with utter impunity.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 59 components with which to build one Tyranid Hive Tyrant or one Swarmlord. This kit comes with a massive selection of weaponry, including a stranglethorn cannon, a heavy venom cannon, a huge set of wings, and four boneswords should you wish to build your Hive Tyrant as the Swarmlord – the nastiest of all Tyranid Hive Commanders. It also comes with one 60mm base.

Tyrannofex / Tervigon

$57.75

The Tyrannofex has the armour and fortitude of a living battle fortress and its weaponry eclipses that of its foes’ most powerful battle tanks in both quantity and devastating potential. Worse, its body houses several breeding chambers where it nurtures all manner of ferocious organisms that it can unleash onto any enemy foolish enough to come too close.

The Tervigon is a massive, living incubator, beneath whose lumpen carapace dozens upon dozens of Termagants slumber in a state of near-life. It can spawn its dormant broods at will, jolting their razor minds into wakefulness and assailing its foe with wave after wave of skittering Termagants.

With a gun as large and powerful as the rupture cannon, it won’t be long before your opponents start to hide their battle tanks from the Tyrannofex. While your smaller creatures and combat monsters deal with the enemy up close and personal, the Tyrannofex can make short work of their vehicles from afar. Meanwhile, the Tervigon will spawn new units of Termagants (potentially 18 of the critters), which are ideal for plugging gaps in your battleline or holding objectives.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 76 components with which to build one Tyranid Tyrannofex or one Tervigon. This kit contains all the weapon options available to the Tyrannofex including a fleshborer hive and a rupture cannon, as well as a collection of gaunt heads to represent a spawning Tervigon. This kit contains one Large Oval base.

New Releases

Everything here releases Saturday, November 5. We’re taking preorders – just click here!

Codex Necrons

$33.00

The Necrons were once the rulers of the galaxy. For aeons they slumbered in their stasis-crypts, waiting for the galaxy to recover from the terrible war that almost tore it asunder. Now the Necrons are waking from their dormancy. They seek to destroy the lesser life forms that infest their old domains, and re-establish their rightful rule. They are an utterly implacable race, advancing upon their foes with a terrifying inevitability. Few can stand before their technological might, and those that do will not stand there for long.

This 96-page Warhammer 40,000 Codex contains all the rules you need to field a Necron army, as well as detailed background information, unit descriptions, accompanying artwork and miniatures showcase.

You will need a copy of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook to use the contents of this book.

Necron Lynchguard

$33.00

The Lychguard are the wardens of the nobility, said to be incorruptible and utterly dedicated to their charges. While most Necrons wear a basic suit of living metal, the Lychguard wear huge suits of ancient armour, the likes of which are normally reserved for the nobility. After all, what use is a bodyguard if he cannot defend his master? Most Lychguard are equipped with heavy-bladed warscythes, which they use to inflict killing blows with every strike. Some will carry hyperphase swords and dispersion shields, which are marginally less powerful, but offer increased protection to the unit.

Triarch Praetorians hold a great responsibility – to ensure that the Necron dynasties never fall. When the Necron race turned to hibernation after the War in Heaven, the Triarch Praetorians chose to remain awake. Now, as the Necrons stir ever more into wakefulness, the Triarch Praetorians have also re-emerged to join the dynastic legions. They will rarely join a battle immediately, preferring to hover above the fray on gravity displacement packs before launching themselves right into the heart of the enemy army. With the devastating rod of covenant at their disposal there is very little that can survive the assault of a Triarch Praetorian.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 111 components with which to build five Necron Lychguard or five Triarch Praetorians. Included in the box are four full sets of weapons, giving you twenty sets of equipment in total. This enables you to kit out units of Lychguard with warscythes or hyperphase swords and dispersion fields; while Triarch Praetorians carry the rod of covenant and can be upgraded to carry voidblades and particle casters. These models come with five 25mm round bases and two Necron transfer sheets.

$33.00

As the shock troops of the Necron army, a phalanx of Immortals will strive for victory using every tactic and stratagem at their disposal. They wear heavier armour than Necron Warriors and they can easily withstand a hail of heavy bolter fire that would obliterate a fleshier target. Should an Immortal be felled, its threat is not ended, for its auto-repair systems will set about repairing the damage to its body immediately and it will quickly return to the fray. Few foes can withstand the Immortals’ return fire so easily. A single shot from a gauss blaster can punch through most types of armour to strip flesh from bone. There can be no hiding from the Immortals.

For countless millennia, Deathmark Squads have served the Necron nobility as snipers and assassins. Even when they were beings of flesh and blood, Deathmarks had a reputation for cold-hearted precision and patience. Now, housed in tireless metal bodies, Deathmarks are more deadly than they ever were in the Time of Flesh. Like most Necrons their technology lies far beyond the realm of mortal comprehension and they can effectively slip in and out of dimensions at will. Their victims will assume that they have been ambushed, that the Deathmarks teleported onto the battlefield. The reality is that they were already there, waiting for just the right moment to lay their trap and catch their prey.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 80 components with which to build five Necron Immortals or five Necron Deathmarks. The set comes with plenty of devastating weapons, including gauss blasters and tesla carbines for the Immortals and synaptic disintegrators for the Deathmarks. These models come with five 25mm round bases and two Necron transfer sheets.

$49.50

The Doomsday Ark is a technological wonder, easily eclipsing the primitive energy weapons of the Imperium. Even fired at low power the doomsday cannon is ferociously destructive; when firing at full effect, its searing energy beams burn many times hotter than more conventional plasma weaponry. Infantry caught in the doomsday cannon’s fury are obliterated instantly; armoured vehicles reduced to glowing slag. In the face of a shot from a doomsday cannon, nothing less than a Titan’s void shields can hope to offer anything more than a fool’s hope of protection.

Ghost Arks are often pressed into service as conventional transport vehicles, conveying reinforcements to some vital area of the battlefield, or allowing Necron forces to attack from an unexpected quarter. The enemy’s predicament is made all the worse by the fact that Necrons deployed in this fashion are, to all intents and purposes, accompanied by their own mobile repair station, for the Ghost Ark can fix even those Necron Warriors that are too badly damaged to repair themselves. Only by destroying the Ghost Ark can the foe have any hope of victory.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 168 components with which to build one Necron Ghost Ark or one Doomsday Ark. If you’re after a troop transport then the Necron Ghost Ark is the perfect vehicle for the job. Alternatively, should you wish to obliterate your foes from the face of the planet, then the Doomsday Ark and it’s under-slung Doomsday Cannon are the right tool for the job. This kit comes with one two small flying stems, one large flying base and two Necron transfer sheets.

$33.00

The more aggressive Necron Overlords fight not on foot, but rather from the deck of a Catacomb Command Barge – an armoured, repulsor-driven skimmer. While embarked upon a Command Barge, a Necron Overlord is able to oversee the battle, ensuring that his troops are engaged with appropriate targets and that everything is going to plan. More often than not he will become bored of watching the battle and command the barge’s pilot to fly him into the midst of the action, where he can launch daring attacks on unsuspecting enemy units, his warscythe decapitating his foes as he flies past.

Annihilation Barges are the Necrons favoured anti-infantry support platforms. Each is armed with a linked pair of tesla destructors – enormous energy cannons that fire ferocious arcs of eldritch lightning. The tesla destructor is primarily an anti-personnel weapon, though only the most heavily armoured tanks can risk its wrath with utter impunity. Its energy discharges wreak terrible harm on living targets, searing their flesh and boiling their blood. Furthermore, the bolts will often leap from target to target before they are finally grounded, leaving a trail of smouldering carnage across a broad swathe of the battlefield.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 84 components with which to build one Necron Catacomb Command Barge or one Annihilation Barge. The Catacomb Command Barge is a suitably regal way to transport your Necron Lord (or named character) into battle, while the Annihilation Barge carries the brutal telsa destructor, which is just as deadly as it sounds! This kit comes with one two small flying stems, one large flying base, one 25mm round base and two Necron transfer sheets.

$45.00

The flayer curse was a parting gift from the C’tan known as Llandu’gor, the flayer. Over time, those Necrons tainted with the curse suffer a slow and tortuous erosion of sanity. Where other Necrons are cold and calculating, these infected warriors begin to take pleasure in death and carnage, wrapping skin and torn flesh around them like grisly trophies. As the madness progresses their actions become even more depraved and they will feast on the flesh of the fallen despite being unable to digest or consume the flesh in any sense the blood simply seeps through the gaps in their exoskeleton and pools beneath their feet. As unnerving as this behaviour may be to other Necrons, their discomfort is nothing compared to the fear that is felt by other races when they encounter the Flayed Ones. Appearing without warning the Flayed Ones will slip into reality and begin their gory harvest, slicing their victims apart with long flensing blades that will strip flesh from bone with sickening ease.

This box contains five Necron Flayed Ones. These models are finely detailed resin cast miniatures. They are supplied as 16 separate components with five 25mm round bases.

$18.25

Of all the Necron Lords, the Overlord is by far the most powerful and dangerous. At his command are uncountable legions of Necron Warriors, terrifying war machines and a vast array of devastating weaponry that could shatter entire worlds given half the chance. When he marches to war, the Necron Overlord does so with the surety of victory – he has cogitated and calculated every possible outcome in the ensuing conflict and formulated strategies to ensure that everything goes to plan. Only the most unlikely situations can outfox him and only the most potent foes have any chance of beating him in combat. Weapons glance off his armour or simply pass straight through him as he shifts in and out of reality. In return, his own attacks are brutally meticulous as he severs heads, shatters armour and pulverises his foes with every swing of his ancient blade. Should a Necron Overlord rise to the position of Phaeron, and ruler of an entire sector, then few will have the strength to stand before his might.

This pack contains one Necron Overlord – a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes as five components (including the option for a Resurrection Orb), and is supplied with a 25mm Round Base.

$15.25

Crypteks are members of pan-galactic conclaves of technologies whose purpose is to study and maintain the eldritch devices of their race. They are masters of dimensional dissonance, singularity manipulation, atomic transmutation, elemental transmogrification and countless other reason-defying technologies. In many ways, a Cryptek’s powers mirror those employed by the psykers of other races, but with a crucial difference; instead of using a mutant mind to channel Warp energies, the Cryptek employs arcane science to harness the universe’s fundamental forces. Such power is highly sought after by Necron Overlords, who will meet whatever demands are made by the Crypteks in exchange for their services.

$18.25

Imotekh is a grand strategist, perhaps the most accomplished the galaxy has ever known, and his campaigns operate not only across worlds, but across entire star systems and sectors. So impeccable are the logical patterns behind the Stormlord’s strategies that the only way a foe can truly gain meaningful advantage is to abandon all logic themselves – something that most races find incredibly hard to do (except the Orks, who remain a constant thorn in the Stormlord’s side). As Phaeron of the Sautekh Dynasty, and with over eighty Tomb Worlds under his command, Imotekh can draw upon incredible resources, for the armies of the entire dynasty are his to requisition at any time. As thousands of Necron Warriors march to war, Imotekh can be found at the forefront of the army, challenging high-ranking enemies to fight him in honourable personal combat. So far he has never been defeated, though if the Stormlord has one weakness it is that he rarely kills his defeated foes – preferring to leave them alive to suffer the humiliation of defeat (and maybe a lost limb or two).

$18.25

Trazyn the Infinite is a preserver of histories, artefacts and events. In his possession are technologies and relics that are so valuable as to be priceless. Amongst his collection are the fabled wraithbone choir of Altansar, the preserved head of Sebastian Thor, the ossified husk of an Enslaver and a giant man clad in baroque power armour. In such a dangerous galaxy, Trazyn is loath to go out and explore it himself, but with so many exquisite artefacts to see and catalogue, he cannot afford to miss out. As a result he will send out substitutes of himself to do his dirty work. On the battlefield this can become increasingly irritating, as killing what appears to be Trazyn may simply be a Lychguard or a Necron Lord. Meanwhile, somewhere nearby, the real Trazyn is busy smashing his way through his foes to get his metal hands on his latest acquisition.

This pack contains Trazyn the Infinite – a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes as three components, and is supplied with a 25mm Round Base.

$35.00

Necron Warriors form the cold heart of a Tomb World’s armies. They are implacable, emotionless and terrifying soldiers – the inexorable emissaries of death itself. Unlike higher ranking Necrons, the basic warrior is little more than an automaton slaved to the will of their commander. What Necron Warriors lack in intuition they more than make up for in determination and durability. Once orders have been received, they are completely single-minded and will follow commands through to conclusion without question. Even wounds that would prove fatal to other races are not enough to stop a Necron Warrior from achieving their goal as they can often repair themselves as quickly as they are damaged.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 120 components with which to build twelve Necron Warriors and three Canoptek Scarab Swarms. This set comes with twelve 25mm round bases, three 40mm round bases and three sprues of green Necron Rods.

$20.00

Destroyers are the deranged agents of annihilation whose sole reason for existence is centred around an unshakeable yearning to quench the flames of life. A Destroyer cares not for borders or allegiances, nor does he make any distinction between the innocent and the damned – all life is his enemy, and all living creatures are his prey. To achieve this mission they will ruthlessly adapt, augment or expunge any facet of their physical form if it will improve their mission of slaughter. Legs are removed in favour of repulsor platforms, arms are fused to the workings of gauss cannons and even the Destroyer’s senses are reconfigured to allow them to track their targets more accurately. On the battlefield, these nihilistic warriors will shatter enemy formations with heavy fire, before swooping down upon the survivors to ensure that none survive.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 13 components with which to build one Necron Destroyer. This kit comes with two small flying stems, one large flying stand, a Necron transfer sheet and a sprue of green Necron Rods.

$66.00

Nothing is so emblematic of Necron implacability than the Monolith. Like all Necron constructs, it is composed of living metal: a complex semi-sentient alloy that ripples and flows to repair damage in the blink of an eye. Energy beams are absorbed and dispersed, whilst tank-busting missiles simply ricochet of the Monolith’s armoured hide. Indeed, the only way to truly halt the advance of a Monolith is to target it with a sustained period of focussed fire, though few enemies have the discipline to bring it down, especially when the Monolith brings its own firepower to bear in return. Armed with the tank-shattering particle whip, the Monolith can turn enemy tanks into smouldering wrecks in a split second, or reduce infantrymen into molecular vapour. Those lucky enough to survive this ferocious attack will find themselves caught within the Monolith’s gauss flux arcs – a pre-programmed defence system that can pre-empt even the random movements of panicked foes. Yet these weapons are nothing compared to the eternity gate – the most terrifying of all the Monolith’s weapon systems. This shimmering energy field is nothing less than a captive wormhole, bound into the very heart of the Monolith, and those who stray to close could well disappear forever.

This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 60 components with which to build one Necron Monolith (including 30 translucent green components for the gauss flux arcs and the particle whip). This kit comes with one Necron transfer sheet.

$15.25

When a Necron Lord strides forth in his raiment of war, only the strongest and canniest of enemies have any hope of survival. His armoured form is proof against tank-busting weaponry and his metal hands can crush bones to powder in the blink of an eye. As befits their status, Necron Lords have access to some of the most powerful weapons within the ancient armouries – warscythes, tachyon arrows and other wondrous tools of destruction. Of all these arcane weapons, there is one that is rightly feared by those who face the Necron race on the field of battle – the Resurrection Orb. This glowing sphere focuses energy into the regeneration circuits of surrounding Necrons, hastening their repair and allowing them to rejoin the battle. For many races, seeing the enemies they have just killed rise back up again is entirely unnerving.

This pack contains one Necron Lord with Resurrection Orb – a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes as five components, and is supplied with a 25mm Round Base and a sprue of green Necron Rods.

Dustin, one of the Wyrd Miniatures Henchmen, sent us a quick write-up for each of the five factions for Malifaux. The Henchmen will be running demos for Malifaux Saturday, March 20 before Open Minis Night kicks off.

The Guild

The Guild is the law in Malifaux and represents the “old guard” practioners of magic from Earth. They exert a fascist control over the reinhabited city and are concerned with maintaining the production of soulstones, a substance which allows for wielders to perform supernatural feats. They provide safety to the new inhabitants of Malifaux, and their indentured work force, via several specialized bureaus that police the rouge elements that exist . The Guild offers a mix of ranged and melee combat abilities that are tuned to defeat particular foes.

The Arcanists

The Arcanists are individuals who practice the “new” forms of magic that Malifaux has awakened . The Arcanists are made of of several groups who believe that Malifaux should not be regulated by the “old guard” forces of the Guild. The most prominent is the Miners and Steamfitters Union (M&SU) which represents the labor class in the city and conducts clandestine smuggling operations. Other groups include the Order of the Chimera and Cult of December. The primary strength of the Arcanists is the wide variety of spells they can cast and the mechanical, elemental constructs, and beast minions they have at their disposal.

The Resurrectionists

The Resurrectionists are a unique sect of universally despised magicians that practice the art of necromancy in Maliafux. From the mad scientist to the charming serial killer, they command the forces of the undead and commit their crimes via proxy. Where the other factions are concerned with collecting soulstones, the Resurrectionists loot the ruins of Malifaux for magical devices, tomes of knowledge, and “fresh” materials for their horrorific creations. They are very resilient characters in play, with the ability to absorb a lot of damage and to raise dead models as additional combatants.

The Neverborn

The Neverborn are the native inhabitants of the world of Malifaux. They are nightmarish monsters, culled from our collective memories, that terrorize the human settlers in Malifaux. Their existence is linked with a great calamity that occurred in the ancient past which destroyed their world and imprisoned the most powerful of its denizens. Their aim is to drive the new human inhabitants of Malifaux out and prevent them from inadvertantly releasing the ancient powers. They are known for their speed and abilities that bend the rules. They possess few ranged attacks but are very deadly in melee combat.

The Outcasts

The Outcasts are a group of smaller interests, unassociated with the major factions in Malifaux. Some Outcasts are also mercenaries that may be hired by the other factions for use in their crews. Their playstyles are as varied as their interests. From the diminutive Gremlins to the social pariah Leviticus, the Outcast faction offers some of the more challenging Crews to play.
