To cap off the Path of Devastation league, we’re having a Hero-roller! $5 entry (free with league entry) on Tuesday, March 31 at 6pm. Your army includes your league hero!
Prizes: Steamroller coins for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. This is the last steamroller coin kit the store will ever be able to get and is being given away as a special prize for this store anniversary tournament.
Time Turns: 7 minutes, with a once per game extension of 5 minutes. Rounds will be a firm 55 minutes because this is a Tuesday night event. Players may bring their own time keeping devices if they do not wish to use the ones available through the store.
Rounds: There will be a maximum of three rounds. In the event of a tie, player ranking will be determined by strength of schedule (SOS). For those not familiar with SOS, this is done by counting the tournament points scored by each opponent of the tied players. The player whose opponents have the highest total score has the best SOS score and earns the higher rank. If SOS is the same for both players, the player who accrued the most control points throughout the tournament earns the higher rank. If control points are also the same for both players, the player who accrued the most enemy army points destroyed throughout the tournament earns the higher rank.
Army lists: one 35-point list required with a second list as optional. All army lists must include the same hero model even though hero models are considered FA: C. The hero model will be the only FA: C model allowed to be taken in both lists if a player elects to use two lists. The following models are considered hero models in this event: Cygnar – Gun Mage Captain Adept, Protectorate – Paladin of the Order of the Wall, Khador – Manhunter, Cryx – Skarlock Thrall, Retribution – Mage Hunter Assassin, Convergence – Steelsoul Protector, Mercenaries – Ogrun Bokur, Trollbloods – Fell Caller Hero, Circle – Blackclad Wayfarer, Skorne – Ancestral Guardian, Legion – The Forsaken, Minions – Croak Hunter.
Special scoring rules: In addition to the normal scoring methods detailed in each scenario, players will have additional ways to score involving hero models. You can also gain one control point if you destroy or remove from play your opponent’s hero model. You will gain two control points if your hero model destroys or removes from play your opponent’s hero model. You will gain three control points if your hero model destroys or removes from play your opponent’s warcaster or warlock.
Hero Upgrades: All players will have 30 XP points to select upgrades for their faction’s hero models (PDF) as part of their list building prior to the start of the tournament. If you played in the Path of Devastation league held at +1 Gaming with a hero who earned more than 30 XP you are welcome to continue using that upgraded hero in this event, but you will not be given any additional XP. A full list of the available upgrades for each hero model can be found in the Path of Devastation Season 1 Riven Bonds rules under the Organized Play section of Privateer Press website. A printed copy will also be available on the night of the event, but all hero upgrades must be selected and recorded on the hero record sheet prior to the tournament start time of 7 p.m.
Hero injuries: This event will not use the hero injury table or send a hero to the Apothecary if a hero model is destroyed or removed from play.
