+1 Magic Series Trial
The inaugural tournament in our new Magic competitive series starts Saturday, September 15! Standard format, $15 entry, first place wins $250 cash and a bye at the big tournament in March!
The Tournament
Registration is 10am to Noon. First round begins at 1pm. You must fill out a decklist (download the PDF form here) and submit to a deck check. The tournament will be played in Swiss rounds and cut to top 8, who will play off for the top 4.
Prizes
- 1st Place wins $250 cash and a bye at the March tournament (see below); bonus prize: free entry to the Louisiana State Championships in Baton Rouge!
- 2nd Place wins $150 cash
- 3rd & 4th Places win a booster box of choice
The +1 Magic Series
The +1 Series will be monthly tournaments on Saturdays (we’re working to fix it on a regular weekend) culminating in our March Anniversary Tournament. The top winner at each +1 Trial (like this one) gets a first-round bye on top of their cash winnings. If that player has already won a bye for the year, the bye goes to the next-highest ranked player who does not have a bye. The Anniversary Tournament will be a $25 entry, prizes to be announced early 2013.
Registration closes at 12:30 and the first round will start by 1pm.
