D&D Game Day is a one day event spotlighting a key product release in an exclusive adventure. This year, D&D Game Day spotlights the Neverwinter Campaign Setting with an exclusive adventure entitled Gates of Neverdeath.
I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is more terrain.
Thanks to the Malifaux league, we’ve realized that we don’t have much terrain that works for indoor locations, and many of the special locations in Malifaux. What?! Time for a terrain building day to fill those gaps and maintain the rest of our community terrain. Our trees are in rough shape, and some of the buildings still need painting. Are there other needs we haven’t recognized?
Terrain Day will be all day this Sunday, July 31. Sorry for the short notice!
Here’s what you can do:
- Participate, and get XP.
- Teach and guide others, and get more XP.
- Donate supplies, and get up to $10 store credit (at our discretion; receipts for new stuff a big plus).
- Build the best piece and get a prize.
- Build the most terrain in that day and get a prize.
Want to see how the 20 Questions posted earlier work with some real-world examples? Here are two characters from a Mutants & Masterminds campaign I played in. I chose these because they are practically designed for inter-party conflict. Because we worked through a cooperative process, we as players were able to play out the characters arguing and fighting and keep the whole game fun for everyone.
There are a lot of ways to start a roleplaying character. After playing countless games and trying lots of methods, I’ve settled into a set of 20 questions. Whether I’m making a player character or GMing a new campaign, I use it every time to focus on the key elements that not only give a character a deep and significant background, but probably more importantly make them fun to play and easy to integrate into adventures.
Sundays at 3pm we’re hosting Pokemon casual play. Show up with a deck, or borrow one of ours to learn to play. Our organizer Amanda is glad to teach. All ages welcome.
We’re having our first store-wide sale all weekend, from Friday, July 29 to Sunday, July 31. Why? Because you have made +1 Gaming an awesome store! Now we want to make it easier than ever to share with new people.
Every fourth Saturday +1 Gaming hosts a 2000-point Warhammer 40k tournament. Registration starts at 10:30 am, and the first round kicks off at 11. Entry is $10.
Our Magic 2012 Release Party is Saturday, July 16. We have a sealed-deck tournament at Noon ($30 entry) and a draft at 3pm ($18 entry). All participants receive a Garruk’s Horde exclusive Launch Party promo card (while supplies last).
Steampainter now has a website, and it will host a live stream of the 24-Hour Paint Challenge on the magic day of August 6.
