Monthly Archives: March 2011
Catalyst Labs is bringing back Classic BattleTech in a big way with their 25th Anniversary Boxed Set. Here’s a satisfyingly-thorough review, and the vitals from their website:
We’re hosting ‘Ard Boyz 2011 this year, starting with Warhammer Fantasy on April 16. It’s a 3000 point, three round tournament. Prizes from Games Workshop go to the top three finishers.
While we’re cleaning up our calendar, here’s a quick run-down of our weekly events:
Our first stock of Malifaux has arrived. We have a slew of crew boxes, decks and rulebooks, as well as the older books with a full list of characters (including pictures and stats). Stop by and pick out your first crew!
Dustin, one of the Wyrd Miniatures Henchmen, sent us a quick write-up for each of the five factions for Malifaux. The Henchmen will be running demos for Malifaux Saturday, March 20 before Open Minis Night kicks off.
Did you know we have a pretty active Find a Game forum? Right now there’s call-outs for Pathfinder, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, Warhammer 40k, Star Wars: SAGA Edition, and even a pro wrestling game. Check it out sometime.
+1 Gaming is now on Twitter - @Plus1Gaming. We’ll use it to announce current happenings like inventory check-ins, open seats at tournaments, games starting up in-store, and interesting products. Basically stuff that’s either too small or too time-sensitive for the website or Facebook. We’ll get an icon up by the RSS soon enough. All the usual updates will still come to the website and Facebook, and we may cross-post between Facebook and Twitter sometimes.
Thursday Night Magic is now a part of +1 Gaming! The format for Thursday Night Magic is draft and will consist of MBS/SOM/SOM. Our first TNM Draft will be on Thursday, March 24th! Bring some friends, or come and make new ones. We’ll start around 5:30 pm and go until closing at 10 pm.
The Henchmen for Malifaux want to set up an event sometime shortly after it comes to +1 Gaming. What day and time is best for you? You can vote for multiple options, so please at least vote one day and one time.
Bear in mind, we won’t do Thursday or Friday nights, as they’re reserved for Magic right now. Everything else should be open.
And as always, feel free to comment below.
We’re hosting an Open Minis Night for all the wargamers on Saturday, March 19 from about 5pm to Midnight. The tables are free (as always); the big idea is to help folks meet others who play their game, and kick-start plans for regular events like tournaments or league play.
So bring your figures, dice, cards, measuring tapes … whatever your game requires. See you at the table.
